“Evil-Doers” Not So Evil After All

In case you missed it (I wouldn’t blame you, most of the mainstream media DID)

The BBC Article In Question

Bush labeled this as “An important step towards reconciliation”. To me, it seems more realist to assume that this is “An important step towards the re.instating the Iraq that you deemed corrupt, lethal and unstable”. I’m sure that soon, we’ll some CIA project resurrect Saddam and crown him once again.

Reconciliation?

Let me get this straight. Personally, I’m all for the school-teachers returning. The vast majority of people banished were in no-way connected to Saddam. I say this because:

“An estimated 2.5 million Iraqis were party members”

“However, it will grant state pensions to many former Baathist employees even if they are not given new posts.”

Coming from an administration that made it it’s mission to tear the Baathist party to pieces is, well — hypocritical? No, it’s laughable, pathetic, injurious, obscene. Not only do you finally see the reason in re-instating an important social structure, you also give them incentives.

Here’s the carrot. Now eat it, and don’t call me a misanthropist.

What next Mr.Bush?
