Places: North Korea

I’m going to take a break from my usual predictable self, and hang-a-line of the turbulent seas of modern dictatorships.

Now, as tough as many people claim we have it (us westerners), our plights fall on deaf ears in terms of the sympathy of the international community. Not only because we label them as medieval savages, but because — really — some of them have it far, far worse.

North Korea

You know the manure’s hitting the fan when you’re featured on Robert Pelton Young’s comebackalive. Some friendly facts:

  1. North Korean’s President was elected eternally
  2. It is led by a cult of personality
  3. Over two million people have died since the mid-nineties over food shortages
  4. North Korea relies on foreign aid to survive
  5. Systematic Foreign Rights Abuse (it’s only abuse if you think they have rights in the first play right Kim?
  6. You’re in the military. Objecting isn’t in the dictionary
  7. The entire world has their nukes pointed at you
  8. (continuing from 7) You have a lunatic in charge
