What’s The Weather Like On Iran?
Your case for Iran seems be lacking substance this time around. With the advent of the N.I.E, the case for war seems to be crumbling. As I’ve mentioned before, could it be your allies the Israelis who man the war-helm?
Your credibility seems to be somewhat shaken. You’ve made two W.M.D cases, and had them both thrown back at you, the first with anger, the second with ridicule. As you’re so fond of saying Mr.President, “fool me once…”.
We do agree about some things Mr.Bush. U.S intelligence, is well — not particulary convincing. The same intelligence that has been claiming that Iran is 5 years from nuclear missiles ever year since 1995. I wouldn’t put it past you to man the tiller anyway, what do they know?
The road forward is finding that “feeling”, that “connection” you made with the people. What happened to that eh? The good ol’ days when you used to give the camera the thumbs up and crack a joke. Newspeak seems to be wearing off, the rhetoric failing to penetrate. Iraq’s in the shitter, Afghanistan’s back on track to being exactly as it was. Even your own party seems to be jumping the loyalty fence. Even the ones that agree on Iraq.
I’ll tell you what. The scare-tactics won’t work. We’re already scared. Try the troop route again, perhaps if you stage a massacre of U.S troops you’ll get support again (including possibly a V.I.P of some sort, or another “Lynch”). Frankly, your half-baked Hormuz incident was rather underwhelming. The threat that a couple of life-rafts pose against a couple of U.S warships is rather — well — ridiculous.
I’m not sure, but I know you’ll try. You’ll give it your-all. I wish you the best of luck, since most of the time your best seems to involve failure.
