Super Tuesday Update
Things are going as planned. McCain consolidates his majority with the independent votes. Romney tagging along peacefully behind, with the exception of calling political foul-play on McCain’s vote “selling” to Huckabee in West Virginia.
Obama trailing Clinton by the “same-old” few percentage points. Gathering more states but less delegate laden ones. CNN highlights the voter preference succinctly:
# White women appeared to overwhelmingly support Clinton
# Black voters favored Obama, as did younger voters
# Evangelicals favored Huckabee; McCain did well among seniors
# Economy a winning issue for McCain; Romney scored with immigration issue
Obviously no large shake ups to be highlighted. We’ll have to wait for New York, California and New Jersey to get a clearer picture on the democratic front.
As an aside, it is interesting to note that while all major global news media report with spectacular colorful logos and intricate designs the advent of Super Tuesday (Wednesday), the Southern U.S has been torn asunder by tornadoes and storms.
I’ll be back later with another dose of opinion on the events when we get a clearer picture. Thooghun, out.
